gardening: The cultivation of edible plants. It can be enjoyable to see plants grow and change in taste.

Kanji: Chinese characters used in Japanese writing. If you grow up in Canada and attend Japanese school as a kid, learning these can be a hassle. They can be fun though once you get the hang of them.

Powell's: My favourite bookstore. Located in Portland, Oregon, it covers a square block in Portland, and sells both new and used books.

SRS: A computer program that helps you learn facts in flashcards efficiently over time by having an algorithm choose for you what to review based on when you are likely to forget it. I occasionally use Anki. Related Blog Post
